I love this and I love the song and I love you. No surprise coming from this part-time agnostic. Bless you.

Reading this feels like looking through snippets of my own journal entries over the last 10 years, as I too, have been deconstructing my faith and redefining myself outside of the confines of indoctrination and conformity that comes with it. Thank you for releasing this song and sharing your story. It feels immensely comforting knowing this journey of rewiring one’s own brain and innate self, isn’t solo, but felt and understood by many others (including yourself). Keep creating, it’s powerful. ❤️

I’m a Christian but related so much to this song, I also had a deconstruction happen in my early twenties when i started to question everything and feeling like the way we do church and look at “others” aren’t really what I think Jesus intended. Though maybe not as intense as you since I grew up in Sweden (with my family from Norway) and the general population isn’t as religious in Scandinavia ;). But the horror of feeling like the God I worship felt like a completely different one than the “Christians” in the States who votes for an orange has been terrifying to witness from afar. I still cannot understand how we are supposed to pray to the same God and have such a different view on things. It’s sad how hijacked I feel my faith has become by racist nationalists. And how that has spread to some people I grew up with here in Sweden.

So while you wouldn’t call yourself a Christian anymore (super ok, you do you!!😊) it still helped me in my journey still being a Christian. Thank you for such a thoughtful post about the song!😊

you don’t know how much I started laughing and crying at the same time when I read ‘more… woo-woo and less….fire and brimstone.’ — so true, legend! **signed, an ex-catholic school girl who know believes in David Bowie as her God and meditates to Bob Dylan**
